Tuscaloosa City Schools Teacher Accused Of Engaging In Sexual Act With Student

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A teacher at STARS Academy is facing felony charges after TPD officers found him with a student in a parked pickup truck.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit announced Tuesday that Arthur Lequal Clark, 31, was charged with second degree rape and being a school employee engaged in sex with a student younger than 19.

Clark has since been released after his bond was set at $30,000 bond
According to a deposition provided to Patch, officers found Clark with a female student in a truck parked in the Eastwood Middle School parking lot at 9 p.m. Friday. The school parking lot is adjacent to the Bryant High, where the school’s football team was playing Northridge High at the time.

Court documents show that Clark was a teacher at STARS and the teenage girl had been a student there.
Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Violent Crimes Unit, asked that any person with information regarding Clark being a suspect in any other crimes of a sexual nature to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690.
