A Tuscaloosa County Jail inmate is back in custody after a short-lived escape early Friday morning.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa County Jail inmate is back in custody after a short-lived escape early Friday morning.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office says just before 6 a.m., 23-year-old Quinn Martel Don Rogers — a jail inmate worker — walked off from the area of the jail's loading dock when a delivery was made.

TCSO then said Rogers was seen in Northport near the train trestle by the Black Warrior River before being found a short time later at a residence hiding under the house.
He is now back in custody and is serving timing on theft and burglary charges.

Rogers was apprehended with help from the Northport Police Department and Tuscaloosa Police Department.
