Tuscaloosa County Man Jailed After Alleged Stabbing

​ A Tuscaloosa County man is facing a second degree assault charge after investigators said he stabbed and cut another person Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa County man is facing a second degree assault charge after investigators claimed he stabbed and cut another person during an altercation Wednesday night.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media Friday morning that Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in 1400 block of Gingerwood Lane on an assault call at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The subdivision is off of Highway 69 South.

"One victim was found suffering several non-life threatening stab wounds and cuts to their face and arm," Kennedy said.

Brandon Michael Schaub was detained at the scene and ultimately charged with second degree assault. He was booked into the county jail and is no longer listed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail database.

Kennedy said the motive in the case is still under investigation, but "drug and/or alcohol use" is believed to have been a factor.
