Tuscaloosa County School System To Operate On Two-Hour Delay Tuesday

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County School System (TCSS) announced Monday afternoon that all of its schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday, Jan. 27, because of extreme cold weather.

Under the delayed schedule, TCSS school buses will also run two hours later than their regular pickup schedules. Breakfast will still be served at the schools.

TCSS also said there will be no early morning extended day programs or before-school activities.

Faculty and staff are instructed to report to work two hours later than their normal arrival times unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.

School system officials said the delayed start will allow additional time to start buses and address any potential issues related to cold weather conditions.

Schools will dismiss at their regular times and after-school activities will operate as scheduled.
