At the March 29 Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to allow the Board President and Board Attorney to enter into contract negotiations with Mr. Danny Higdon, for the position of Chief School Financial Officer. Mr. Danny Higdon previously served as CSFO of the Tuscaloosa County School System from October 2012 to April 2020. Mr. Higdon retired last year, but has made the decision to put his retirement on hold and return to TCSS.
“I’m really excited about coming back and working with everyone at TCSS, and looking forward to getting started,” Mr. Higdon said, following the Board’s vote.

Mr. Higdon’s appointment date will be determined and announced once terms of his contract are finalized. The Board voted unanimously for the selection of Mr. Higdon as CSFO.
