Congratulations to Mr. Dennis Alvarez, who retired in September as Sispey Valley High School Principal! Mr. Alvarez has served as SVHS Principal since the opening of the school in 2010. In honor of Mr. Alvarez's service to the Sipsey Valley High school students, faculty, staff, and community, the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education approved a resolution naming the road directly to the west of SVHS as Dennis Alvarez Circle.

Congratulations to Mr. Dennis Alvarez, who retired in September as Sispey Valley High School Principal!  Mr. Alvarez has served as SVHS Principal since the opening of the school in 2010. In honor of Mr. Alvarez's service to the Sipsey Valley High school students, faculty, staff, and community, the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education approved a resolution naming the road directly to the west of SVHS as Dennis Alvarez Circle.

Mr. Alvarez was surprised with this honor at the Sipsey Valley Homecoming Preview on Thursday evening. Sipsey Valley Principal Dr. John Hooper and TCSS Superintendent Dr. Keri Johnson made the presentation to Mr. Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez also served as Grand Marshal of the Sipsey Valley Homecoming Parade, accompanied by his grandson and wife.

Dr. John Hooper takes over the position as principal at Sipsey Valley High, after serving as assistant principal for the past year. Mr. Jeremy Perkins is the new assistant principal, coming from the position of assistant principal at Englewood Elementary.
