The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is cautioning the public of a new phone scam targeting unsuspecting people in the community

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is urging caution among the public amid news of the latest tactic used by phone scammers in Alabama.

The sheriff's office says the scam involves the caller claiming to be a representative with Alabama Power to solicit payment and claiming that service will be interrupted for failure to pay.
