TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Democratic Party will host a barbecue fundraiser on Saturday to honor the memory of a longtime community leader.

The Catherine "Cathy" Clinton Meyer Community Leader Memorial will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 at 13640 Flamingo Road in Northport from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $25 each.
Meyer died in 2020 at the age of 55 following an extended illness.

Active in local, state and national politics, Meyer worked to help create what became Emerge Alabama, which works to recruit and train women to run for elective office.
Meyer was also passionate about spreading awareness concerning Climate Change, going on to establish the Tuscaloosa Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby.
