TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue says it is investigating a Monday morning structure fire at the Alabama Paper Products facility, located at 1300 Industrial Park Drive.

Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Holly Whigham told Patch that one Tuscaloosa firefighter was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center to be evaluated for heat-related injuries.

TFR says the call came in shortly after 11:30 a.m.

Fire officials said the blaze started on the exterior of the facility, before working its way into the interior of the facility. Thankfully, sprinklers were activated and stopped the fire from spreading.

The cause of the fire is unknown as of the publication of this update and remains under investigation.
