Tuscaloosa Investigators Arrest 2 In Unrelated Sexual Abuse Cases

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The sexual assault section of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit on Thursday announced two unrelated arrests relating to sexual abuse of children.

• Lee Roy Jones, 76, was charged Tuesday for sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old and first-degree rape. His bond was set at $90,000.
• Olimpo Flores-Uzcanga, 39, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of first-degree rape. His bond was set at $60,000.

"The Sexual Assault Section works alongside other community partners to support the victims, and bring these types of offenders to justice," said Captain Jack Kennedy, the unit's commander. "It took a great deal of courage for these victims to come forward at this time. The investigation into the following subjects are ongoing, and both are known to have had access to children. "
