Tuscaloosa Investigators On Separate Scenes Of Shooting, Stabbing
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is currently on the scene of two separate incidents that occurred on Friday.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit are investigating two separate, unrelated instances of violence that occurred on Friday.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media that investigators are currently on the scene of a stabbing at Mimosa Gardens Circle that resulted in injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Kennedy then said a female suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing.
In an update Friday evening, the suspect was identified as 32-year-old Jamira Pope. Kennedy said she was charged with second degree domestic violence and jailed after her bond was set at $10,000.

In a seemingly separate incident, a male victim was injured in a shooting Friday at Branscomb Apartments on Highway 69 South.
The victim suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening and was initially uncooperative with police, before investigators learned that he accidentally shot himself while mishandling a handgun.
Kennedy said the man has not been charged with a crime relating to the accidental shooting.
