Tuscaloosa Man Charged Following Child Pornography Investigation
A Tuscaloosa man has been charged in connection to a child pornography investigation by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man has been charged in connection to a child pornography investigation by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.

Phillip Shannon Wright, 44, was arrested Tuesday and was charged with one count of dissemination of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 involved in obscene acts and seven counts of possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 involved in obscene acts.

The Task Force began the investigation in February in collaboration with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Assisting agencies included the Tuscaloosa Police Department's Cyber Intelligence Unit and the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Wright was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Tuesday, where his bond was set at $135,000.
