Tuscaloosa Man Charged With Murder After Thursday Night Shooting
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has arrested a Tuscaloosa man in connection with a fatal shooting Thursday night on Queen City Avenue.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has arrested a Tuscaloosa man in connection with a fatal shooting Thursday night on Queen City Avenue that left one person dead.

Captain Marty Sellers told local media that around 7:30 p.m., the Tuscaloosa Police Department received reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Queen City Avenue.

Once on scene, officers located a car wrecked two blocks away occupied by a man who had been shot multiple times.
Sellers said 37-year-old Rufus Tyrone Carter IV was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

After VCU investigators arrived at the scene, Sellers said Reginal Dawayne Peoples , 36, came to the Tuscaloosa Police Department's front desk and turned himself in, saying he had just shot someone.
"After speaking with the witnesses and processing the evidence on scene, Mr. Peoples was charged for murder," he said.
Peoples was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and, following consultation with the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office, was denied bond in accordance with Aniah's Law.
