Tuscaloosa Man Jailed On Child Pornography Charges

A Tuscaloosa man is behind bars on two felony charges relating to child pornography after being arrested at his home Thursday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges following a joint investigation led by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.

Michael Wilson, 33, has been charged with two counts of disseminating obscene material depicting persons under the age of 17 after investigators searched his home Thursday morning.

Task Force Commander Capt. Phil Simpson said Wilson was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond was set at $60,000. He then said additional charges are expected.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department, University of Alabama Police Department, the State of Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Division and TPD’s Cyber Crimes division all contributed to the investigation.
