Tuscaloosa Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash At Intersection

One person is dead and another was treated for injuries after a head-on collision just before noon in Tuscaloosa on Thursday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department said one person is dead following a head-on collision at the intersection of Greensboro Avenue and 10th Avenue.

The initial call of the crash came in just before noon on Thursday after the driver of a Kia Optima was turning left from Greensboro Avenue to 10th Avenue and struck a Mitsubishi Lancer traveling south on Greensboro.

The driver of the Mitsubishi — a 53-year-old man from Tuscaloosa — died as a result of his injuries.

TPD then said paramedics examined the Kia driver at the scene, but he did not require further medical attention.

The cause of the fatal wreck remains under investigation.
