Tuscaloosa Mayor Appoints Meggs As Director Of Environmental Services
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Thursday announced the appointment of Chris Meggs as the city's director of Environmental Services.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Thursday announced the appointment of Chris Meggs as the city's director of Environmental Services.

His first day in the new role will be June 3.

Meggs, a native of Tuscaloosa, has been employed by the city for over 15 years in roles including maintenance crew supervisor, water/wastewater systems maintenance manager and CDL training coordinator.
Meggs also recently served as director of Facilities Maintenance for the city’s Construction, Facilities & Grounds department.

“Chris has been a hard-working, devoted team player at the City of Tuscaloosa for over 15 years,” Maddox said. “He has excelled in each role he has held with progressive amounts of responsibility. I feel confident that our Environmental Services division will thrive under his leadership.”
In terms of qualifications, Meggs has certifications in Driving Safety, Qualified Credentialed Inspector, and CDL Training, in addition to completing the Dale Carnegie Leadership Course.
