Serena Fortenberry (to Patch): "Tuscaloosa has a chance today to vote out waste, corruption, and crony capitalism. Voters have a chance to elect a new mayor. A vote for me is a vote that supports repealing the Elevate sales tax. It is a vote that supports eliminating wasteful spending by our city government. It is a vote that prioritizes the city’s responsibility and accountability to -all- citizens. It is a vote to reopen City Hall to the citizens who pay for it. It is a vote for true transparency and efficiency. It is a vote against the smoke and mirrors and a financial house of cards that the current mayor has created. It is a vote to reduce city debt—not increase it. A vote for Serena is a vote for ethics."

Martin Houston (to Patch): "I would like to thank some very special people! First of all, Thank God for his many blessings, my lovely wife and supportive family! Also thanks goes out to my campaign team, donors and supporters! This has truly been an honor and pleasure to run to be the Mayor of Tuscaloosa! As Mayor, I want ALL the people, whether they voted for me or not, I will welcome and serve them to the best of my ability! Let’s make Tuscaloosa Great!"
Mayor Walt Maddox (to Patch): “Election Day is finally here. I’m proud of how hard our campaign has worked. The result is now in the hands of the voters.”
