Tuscaloosa Municipal Court Collecting Supplies For 'Pack The Campuses' Drive

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Municipal Court is asking residents to help local college students start the fall semester with essential food, household and hygiene supplies as part of this year's "Pack the Campuses" drive.

The Municipal Court is partnering with Resources, Education and Advocacy for Drug-Free Youth (READY) for the annual collection effort, which also involves the University of Alabama's Beat Auburn Beat Hunger campaign and Stillman College.

Donations will go toward helping students as they return to campus for the fall semester.

Residents can drop off donations now through Sept. 2 in a collection bin at Tuscaloosa Municipal Court, located at 2122 Gary Fitts Street.

Organizers said some of the most-needed donations include:

• Travel-sized toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner.
• Feminine hygiene products.
• Laundry essentials, including Tide Pods.
• Canned meat, vegetables and fruit, preferably in pop-top cans.
• Easy-to-prepare and instant meals, including Chef Boyardee, macaroni and cheese, and ramen.
