Tuscaloosa Nonprofit Seeking Book Donations For Youth In Foster System

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A local nonprofit is collecting new books for children and teenagers in foster care as part of its upcoming Back-to-School Bash.

Tuscaloosa Angles says donated books will be distributed to children and youth in foster care during the event, helping build home libraries and encourage a positive connection to reading and education.

The effort is part of Tuscaloosa Angels' broader mission of supporting foster children, caregivers and families throughout West Alabama.

Tuscaloosa Angels said the Back-to-School Bash will provide school supplies and other resources to foster families while creating a fun and encouraging environment for children as they prepare to return to the classroom.

Organizers also said the goal is to ensure foster youth begin the school year equipped for success and excited about learning.

The nonprofit serves children and families involved in the foster care system through mentoring, volunteer support and intentional giving programs.

Tuscaloosa Angels is part of the National Angels network and has operated in the community since 2019.

Community members interested in supporting the book drive can purchase and donate books through the organization's online collection campaign.
