The start of school is just around the corner and the Tuscaloosa Police Department plans to give away 600 backpacks and school supplies.
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The start of school is just around the corner and the Tuscaloosa Police Department plans to give away 600 backpacks filled with school supplies next month.

The TPD Police Athletic League, along with the Panhellenic Council of West Alabama, have partnered for the annual giveaway, which will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, at 3 p.m.

The giveaway will be held at the TPD Police Athletic League Gym, located at 3301 25th Street.
TPD also said any backpacks not distributed at the event on Aug. 4 will be handed out at the PAL gym on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 8 a.m. until noon or while supplies last.
