TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a driver who struck a 74-year-old woman with her car and left the scene.

TPD said in a press release Thursday evening that the victim was hit while crossing the parking lot on the general merchandise side of Walmart on Skyland Boulevard at 4:45 p.m. on March 4.

Witnesses then informed police that the driver of the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, in addition to a small child — a 1-3 year old boy — who was standing up in the front passenger seat.
The woman was hit and knocked to the pavement, before the driver left toward Skyland Boulevard.

TPD said the injured woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Pontiac G6 with an Alabama tag that starts with 44.
