Tuscaloosa Probation Officer Charged With Custodial Sexual Misconduct

A Tuscaloosa probation officer stands accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a person currently on probation or parole.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says a probation officer for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole assigned to Tuscaloosa stands accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a person currently on probation or parole.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media on Friday that Jeremy Damon Hall, 31, has been charged with custodial sexual misconduct. His bond was set at $10,000 bond and he has also been terminated as an employee with the Bureau of Pardons and Parole.

Kennedy pointed out that, regardless of consent, the behavior is prohibited under Code of Alabama 14-11-31 and is a class C Felony.

"As stated in the law, alleged consent is not a defense to this crime," he said. " It is of vital importance that people have trust their criminal justice system."
