Tuscaloosa’s One Place Hosting Free Parenting Event With Supplies, Resources
Tuscaloosa's One Place announced Thursday it will host a free event this weekend

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa’s One Place announced Thursday it will host a free event this weekend aimed at helping expecting and new parents access education, support and essential child care supplies.

"Safe Start: A Race to Positive Parenting" is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Heights Community Resource Center located at 3834 21st St. in Tuscaloosa.

The nonprofit says pre-registration is required by calling Tuscaloosa’s One Place at (205) 462-1000.
Tuscaloosa’s One Place said participants will take part in parent education sessions led by professionals and those who complete all sessions will receive items including a Pack N Play, diapers, wipes and other supplies.

Lunch will also be provided.
“This event is all about empowering parents with the resources and confidence they need to give their children a strong, healthy start,” Executive Director Kevin Besnoy said in a statement. “We are proud to support families in our community through education and support, all with the mission of preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens.”
The event is supported by the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention through the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama.
