Tuscaloosa Shooting Suspect Charged With Murder After Victim Dies
A man is now charged with murder after the victim died following a Friday morning shooting near University Boulevard and The Strip
TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) says charges have been upgraded from attempted murder to murder for 22-year-old Zachary Profozich, after the victim in a Friday morning shooting succumbed to his injuries and died at a Tuscaloosa hospital early Saturday morning.
The victim was then identified by VCU Commander Capt. Jack Kennedy as 19-year-old Schuyler Bradley.
Profozich has posted bonded after being processed into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. His bond is was set at $150,000, up from the $60,000 bond he was being held on prior to the victim's death when he was charged with attempted murder.

VCU says Tuscaloosa Police officers responded at 1:32 a.m. Friday morning to a report of a shooting on University Boulevard near The Strip. Bradley was found to be the only person injured in the shooting and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center.

The multi-agency unit then responded to assume the investigation and worked throughout the night into Friday morning locating evidence and witnesses. Profozich was eventually determined by investigators to be a suspect and was later arrested.
VCU Commander Capt. Jack Kennedy said it appears that Bradley and Profozich were involved in an argument prior to the shooting. He also said the incident appears to be isolated in nature and poses no threat to the University of Alabama area.
