Tuscaloosa StoryWalk To Debut Permanent Location Oct. 2
The Tuscaloosa StoryWalk concept will soon unveil a permanent home at the Jaycee Fairgrounds in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 2.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa StoryWalk will now have a permanent home after a spring and summer of testing out the concept in parks across the area.

The Jaycee Fairgrounds and park will play host to a debut celebration for the new installment on Saturday, Oct. 2. The kickoff event will feature games, activities, refreshments and food trucks. The park is located at 2201 Positive Place, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.

The new Tuscaloosa StoryWalk will officially open at 9 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting to follow at 10 a.m.
Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA), along with the Tuscaloosa Public Library officially unveiled the first StoryWalk in April, turning the Tuscaloosa River Walk into a walkable storybook, with podiums displaying laminated pages of a children's storybook that can be read as participants walk the path.

The University of Alabama's College of Human Environmental Sciences has also participated in making Tuscaloosa StoryWalk possible.
