The music and narration will be composed by TSO Principal Tubist Kenyon Wilson and is designed specifically for children and their families. The goal of the performance is to showcase the joy of the symphony in a way that is accessible and engaging for young audiences.
The student dancers from the Tuscaloosa Fine Arts Academy will also take the stage, while student visual artists from The Alberta School for the Performing Arts — overseen by dance educator Celeste Crawford and art educators Mitchell Jones and Abel Phillips — will create an outer space art gallery for audience members to enjoy on their way in and out of the concert hall.
At the conclusion of the concert, children in attendance will have the opportunity to make a rocket ship craft and enjoy a snack in the Choral Opera Room, which will be provided by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Guild.
Students can attend the event at no cost, while adult tickets are $30 and can be purchased with free student tickets by calling (205) 752-5515, so the seats can be reserved together.
The TSO Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
