Tuscaloosa Teen Found Shot To Death At Springhill Apartments

A homicide investigation is underway after a 19 year old was found dead of a gunshot wound at Springhill Apartments Thursday night.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa County man was found dead at an apartment complex Thursday night following a shooting that occurred at approximately the same time as a fatal officer-involved shooting three and half miles away on Skyland Boulevard.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Commander Captain Jack Kennedy confirmed on Friday that Omar Childers, 19, was found dead in a vehicle at Springhill Apartments by officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

No arrests have been made in this case and Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing, but is being handled as a homicide.
