Tuscaloosa VA to Host Inaugural Veterans Parade Next Month

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center this week announced it will hold its inaugural Veterans Parade on Wednesday, Nov. 6, as part of Veterans’ Week celebrations.

The community event will honor veterans residing at the facility and those from the surrounding community, kicking off at 10 a.m. on the medical center grounds at Building 137 near the Woodland Road Entrance.

The parade will conclude at the Hospice of West Alabama building and will feature local first responder agencies, high school marching bands and staff from the Tuscaloosa VA.
“Our service looks to provide therapeutic activities to our residents," recreation therapist Kelan Roseman said. "It’s hard for our patients to get out and attend community events, so I thought, why not bring the event to all of the residents with a parade outside their door?”
