Two Killed, Tuscaloosa Man Injured In Wreck Near Moundville
Two Uniontown residents were killed and a Tuscaloosa man injured in a head-on collision on Highway 69 Thursday.
MOUNDVILLE, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says two Uniontown residents were killed and a Tuscaloosa man injured in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon on Highway 69, four miles south of Moundville.

ALEA Public Information Officer Senior Trooper Reginal King identified the two fatalities as James Pope Jr., 66, and his passenger, Mary Pope, 62, who were killed when the 1995 Chevrolet 1500 they were occupying collided head-on with a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a Tuscaloosa man.

King said the Popes were pronounced dead at the scene, while the Tuscaloosa man was injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. His condition is unknown and Patch will not be publishing his identity at this time.
ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the incident.
