Two Tuscaloosa Women Set To Run In Boston Marathon
Two Tuscaloosa residents are listed among the large field of runners set to compete on Oct. 11 on the 26-mile route.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Two women from Tuscaloosa will be among the massive field of runners on the 26-mile route for the 2021 Boston Marathon on Oct. 11.

Ann Besanceney, 41, and Chihiro Nakai, 36, both listed Tuscaloosa as the cities they will be representing in the event, which is taking place more than 900 days after the last Boston Marathon due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To follow the two runners during the broadcast, look for Besanceney's bib number of 3395 and Nakai with 8673.
The 2021 installment will mark the fourth time Nakai has competed in the Boston Marathon, logging the following times:

Conversely, records show that this will be Besanceney's first time in the Boston Marathon.
The Boston Marathon is being run in October for the first time after being postponed and ultimately canceled in 2020 and delayed this year. Race officials said the marathon will return back to its traditional Patriots Day date beginning next year.
