TUSCALOOSA, AL — A two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning has shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 59 in Greene County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the crash occurred at approximately 6:09 a.m. near the 37-mile marker on Interstate 59.

The Alabama Department of Transportation reports the crash occurred near Exit 32 near County Road 20 in Boligee.

ALEA officials said the southbound lanes are expected to remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating and monitoring traffic conditions.
