UA Offers Tutwiler Hall Keepsakes To Raise Money For Scholarships

The University of Alabama is offering a range of keepsakes for the current and new Tutwiler Hall locations as part of a fundraising effort.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — As it moves to a new facility, The University of Alabama if offering a way to recognize the thousands of students who have passed through Julia Tutwiler Hall since 1960.

The revenue generated will go toward benefit future housing scholarships at UA.

  • A custom paver at the new Tutwiler Hall ($250)
  • A commemorative brick for the former Tutwiler Hall structure, with an engraved plaque ($100)
  • A plaque with a room number ($50)

UA says the new facility, slated for completion in August 2022, will be located southwest of the current Tutwiler Hall. The New Tutwiler Residence Hall will accommodate over 1,200 freshmen female students with two-person rooms that includes private bathrooms, lounges, and community/traditional-style residence hall spaces.

Construction began on the new residence hall in June 2019. The current Tutwiler Hall is slated for demolition in July 2022.
