TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The University of Alabama on Monday confirmed one of its students was struck by a train and killed Saturday on the railroad tracks in the area of the 1200 block of McFarland Boulevard East. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) said the Tuscaloosa Police Department initially responded Saturday at about 9:30 p.m. and found the subject deceased at the scene.
The Violent Crimes Unit responded to assume the investigation, where it was determined that the person killed was alone at the time it occurred and no foul play is suspected.
Both the VCU and UA declined to identify the individual.
