TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Uniontown woman was killed early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Dallas County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Kimeia A. Bennett, 43, was a passenger in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that left the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday, May 3.

ALEA said Bennett was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was from Uniontown and a second passenger was from of Tuscaloosa. Both were also injured and taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The crash happened on U.S. Highway 80 near Dallas County 209, about eight miles west of Selma.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
