UPS Store Coming To Northport Shopping Center

NORTHPORT, AL — A new UPS Store is set to take the space of the former Radio Shack location in the Hobby Lobby shopping center in Northport.

City Council President Jeff Hogg, who has been a vocal proponent for attracting new business to the city, said this serves as an answer to the wishes of many Amazon and online shoppers.

Hogg said while standalone brick-and-mortar locations are appreciated, he is also glad to see a void filled in the local economy.

"Developers do watch my page, other elected officials’ page, and some of our local pages and are in tune with the wishes of our citizens," he said in a Facebook post Wednesday night. "I’m glad this one finally came to fruition."

The timetable for the opening of the new UPS Store has not been announced at this time.
