UWA Quarterback Earns GSC Player Of The Week After Four TD Performance
University of West Alabama quarterback Tucker Melton has been named Gulf South Player of the Week after his performance in a 31-0 win.

LIVINGSTON, AL— University of West Alabama quarterback Tucker Melton has been named Gulf South Player of the Week after his performance in a 31-0 win at Miles College on Saturday.

Melton, a transfer from Bowling Green, went 22-for-39 for 400 yards and four touchdowns through the air. UWA also pointed out that Melton's 400-yard game is the most for a single game in the conference.

Aa part of his performance, Melton was able to spread the ball around to 10 different receivers — led John Hilbert, who grabbed a pair of touchdown receptions for 50 yards and 69 yards.
Hilbert aided with six catches for 146 yards, while Geordan Pollard tallied six receptions for 89 yards and a score. Caeleb Bass also had 63 yards on only three catches.

Melton leads the Gulf South Conference with 586 passing yards, going 44-for-77.
The UWA Tigers (2-0) will take on Tuskegee at home on Saturday, Sept. 17, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. inside Tiger Stadium.
