UWA’s Allen Named West Division Co-Player Of The Week
In his debut week for the Tigers, the native of Bolton, Mississippi averaged 14.8 points and 5.5 rebounds.

The first week of games proved fruitful for the University of West Alabama Men's basketball team as the Tigers won three games and Shardarrion Allen was named Gulf South Conference West Division Co-Player of the Week.

In his debut week for the Tigers, the native of Bolton, Mississippi averaged 14.8 points and 5.5 rebounds. Allen's high mark of the week came in the season opener where the junior forward posted a stat line of 18 points, six rebounds, four steals, a block and an assist in a win over Mississippi College on Jan. 12. His points and rebounding averages currently leads the squad as well as his .750 field goal percentage.
Allen has scored in double-digits in all four contests so far this season for the Tigers who opened the season 3-1 after two home wins over MC and splitting a pair of games on the road with Union.

Alongside Allen, Alabama Huntsville's Sam Orf shared the West Division Co-Player of the Week honor. Orf averaged 18 points and seven rebounds aided by 27 points and eight rebounds in a win over Delta State.
West Alabama and UAH (6-1, 6-0 GSC) currently ranked 18th in the NABC Division II Men's Basketball, are set to clash in a matchup of the current top two teams in the GSC West Division this weekend. The first game is Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. and the second is the following day at 3 p.m. with both games taking place in Spragins Hall in Huntsville, Alabama.
