Arrest Made After Friday Morning Shooting Near The Strip
One is in critical condition and a person of interest has been located and detained following a Friday morning shooting near The Strip.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — A suspect has been charged with one count of attempted murder following a shooting Friday morning on University Boulevard that left one man in critical condition.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) said 22-year-old Zachary Profozich was formally charged in the incident and was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Friday, where his bond was set at $60,000.
VCU says Tuscaloosa Police officers responded at 1:32 a.m. to a report of a shooting on University Boulevard near The Strip. The 19-year-old male victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

The multi-agency unit then responded to assume the investigation and worked throughout the night locating evidence and witnesses. Profozich was eventually developed as a suspect and was located before being detained.
VCU Commander Capt. Jack Kennedy said it appears that the victim and suspect were involved in an argument that precipitated the shooting.

:There is no reason to believe that there is any ongoing threat to the Strip or University area as a result of this incident," he said.
