Victim Identified After Fatal Crash In Perry County Last Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Marion man has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash late last week in Perry County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says Barry E. Moore, 42, was killed around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, when the 2010 Nissan Altima he was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire on Perry County 23 near Perry County 20, about three miles west of Marion.

ALEA said Moore was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

ALEA also said Moore could not immediately be identified at the scene and his body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where his identity was later confirmed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
