Winfield Man Killed In Hale County Crash; Small Child And Two Others Injured

A Winfield man was killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on U.S. Highway 80 in Hale County.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Winfield man was killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on U.S. Highway 80 in Hale County, roughly five miles east of Demopolis.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the wreck occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, when a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by 66-year-old James S. Lynn was struck by a 2020 Dodge Charger driven by a resident of Demopolis.

ALEA says Lynn was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Charger and a 3-year-old passenger were injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment, while a 63-year-old female passenger of the Toyota was also injured.

The passenger of the Toyota was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

ALEA says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
