Woman Injured In University Mall Shooting Saturday Afternoon
The Tuscaloosa Police Department is on the scene of a Saturday afternoon shooting at University Mall in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Police are investigating an apparent shooting at University Mall that resulted in a woman receiving a minor injury Saturday afternoon.

TPD is currently on the scene and said in a follow up press release that at 1:31 p.m., dispatchers received multiple calls about shots fired at University Mall. TPD officers at the scene have now determined that the shots were fired from inside the mall.

No one in custody at this time. Either I or VCU will update as investigation continues.
TPD went on to say a woman in the mall's food court was grazed by a bullet and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle.

There have been no suspects taken into custody at this time.
The multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is set to take over the investigation, but Tuscaloosa Police said its investigators do not believe there is any immediate danger for the community.
