Here's the latest after a 42-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in the Argo community of eastern Walker County
ARGO, AL — The Walker County Sheriff’s Office says one person is dead and another in custody following a fatal shooting Friday morning in the Argo community.

Investigators said a 42-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene in eastern Walker County after being shot. Her identity has not been released at this time as the investigation is in its early stages.

WCSO also said a suspect was immediately taken into custody at the scene, with formal charges and additional details expected to be announced Monday when the arrests warrants are issued.
The sheriff's office also said there is no danger to the general public.
