Back To School Sales Tax Holiday Is July 20-22
A sales tax holiday will be in effect this weekend, giving families a chance to purchase school supplies sans state sales tax.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - This weekend, July 20-22, Vestavia Hills will participate in a statewide initiative to ease the burden of back-to-school shopping. A sales tax holiday is in effect this weekend on school supplies in municipalities that have chosen to participate.

This is the state's 13th year to observe the tax holiday, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, books and clothing free of municipal sales tax and the state’s four percent sales or use tax. The Jefferson County 1 percent Special Revenue sales and use tax still applies.
