Deck The Heights Kicks Off Thursday Night

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - With a chill in the air this weekend, tonight is a perfect time to get in the holiday spirit, as Deck the Heights takes place beginning at 4 p.m. in Cahaba Heights. The open house event features family fun, with a trolley ride around Cahaba Heights.

The Heights Express Trolley is a ride with Santa’s elves to all of the festivities around Cahaba Heights. The first trolley will begin boarding at 4 p.m. at Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights. The trolley will make 8 additional stops around the area. At each stop there will be a table for the children to get their passport stamped to earn a free Doodles from Santa.

The first stop, Creative Dog Training, kicks off the night. Sip on hot chocolate from Higher Ground Coffee and enjoy special musical performances from VHHS Just Singin’(4:30) and Before Soma. Salon Summit will be in on the festivities and curling the kids' hair.

The second stop, Birmingham Physical Therapy, will feature entertainment and complimentary beverages and appetizers plus arts and crafts for the kids. Check out Bloom Studio Birmingham and make your own bath bombs.

Heights Express Trolley will then stop at Flip Flops and What Nots where they will be serving complimentary food and beverages, and participants can also register to win door prizes. The fourth stop is at Leaf and Petal, Crestline Bagel and El ZunZun. Enjoy the strolling violinist with food and beverages.

The ride continues on to The Blue Willow and Ryan Reeve where guests can enjoy food, beverages, discounts and giveaways, before the trolley heads to Blackwell’s. The Heights Express then stops at Meadowlawn Park. Enjoy the falling snow and Adopt a Stuffed Animal Puppy from Dog U. Hang out and listen to musical performances from local Girl Scouts.

The final Heights Express Trolley stop is The Heights Village. This final stop on the journey will feature a free wine tasting from NY Butcher Shoppe, and Free Class Passes from True40. The Heights Village will be packed with food, beverages, discounts and kids craft tables from Little Soles, The Lili Pad, GiGi’s Teen, Serendipity, Manhattan South, Learning Express and The Swanky Stork. Enjoy food and beverages from FoodBar and newly opened Wintzell’s Oyster House.

Children can get a picture taken in the Heights Village photo booth with Santa, and everyone can walk over to Second Hand Rose and Cahaba Pharmacy to enjoy discounts and beverages, then take a stroll behind the Heights Village and visit the Pink House with The Art House and Freedom Soaps.
