Foundation Delivers Largest Donation Ever To Vestavia Schools

The EVstavia Hills City Schools Foundation just presented a record-high donation to the city's schools.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Vestavia's schools have received their largest donation ever from the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation. The Foundation donated $142,169.55 to fund more than 25 grants for all eight schools and the system as a whole, according to a release from the foundation’s executive board.

The grants will provide funding for classroom technology and instructional programs, as well as unique professional learning opportunities for Vestavia Hills City Schools’ faculty.

Grants in the 2019-2020 funding year include equipment for digital media, kits for learning robotics and coding and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) programming at multiple schools.

The Foundation also provided grant money to support the school system’s ongoing Teacher Leaders Program and summer professional development initiatives.

Since its founding in 1996, the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation has provided more than $1.1 million in gifts to Vestavia Hills City Schools.
