Nursing Home Theft Suspect Receives Additional Charges

A woman who was arrested in June by the VHPD in connection to the theft of jewelry from a nursing home resident received additional charges.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - A woman who was arrested by the Vestavia Hills Police Department in June in connection with a jewelry theft at the nursing home at which she worked has been charged with an additional crime. Shaquese Crenshaw, 20, of Birmingham was initially arrested for Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree, a Class B felony.

A report by the VHPD said Monday that further collaboration with the Alabama Department of Public Health yielded probable cause for an additional charge of Misappropriation of Property of a Resident of a Nursing Home, a class C felony.

Investigators obtained a warrant for the charge through the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office with a $5,000 bond requirement.
