Prostitution Sting In Homewood Nets 7 Arrests And Rescue Of Minor
Seven people were arrested and a juvenile was rescued during a prostitution sting in Homewood.

HOMEWOOD, AL - A prostitution sting in Homewood resulted in seven arrests and the rescue of a juvenile who may have been the victim of human trafficking. The Homewood Police Departmentβs Vice and Narcotics Unit carried out an operation targeting prostitution in the city with help from Vestavia Hills police and the FBI.
A report by Alabama Media Group said the operation stemmed from complaints received about hotels and motels along the Oxmoor Road and Lakeshore Parkway exits off Interstate 65. The operation involved undercover officers responding to social media and internet adds soliciting sexual activity for payment.

Those arrested on prostitution charges are: Kira Brown Tapozada, 23, of Rhode Island; Lauren Michelle Baker, 31, of Jasper; Joanne Karageh, 23, of Rhode Island; Amber Marie Howard, 21, of Bessemer; and Nyesha Kilgore, 23, of Birmingham.
The two men are charged with promoting prostitution are Derrick Roberts, 27, of Birmingham and Rodney White, 23, of Georgia.
