Superintendent Announces Changes To Capital Projects Timeline

Some changes to the initial timeline for the capital project for Vestavia schools have been made, and were announced this week.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - Vestavia Hills City Schools Superintendent Todd Freeman announced this week some changes to the timeline for the system's capital projects which spreads elementary students evenly across Cahaba Heights, Gresham (which will be called Vestavia Hills Elementary Dolly Ridge), Vestavia Hills Elementary East, Vestavia Hills Elementary West and Liberty Park Elementary.

The changes Freeman discussed specifically affect the configuration of Pizitz Middle School and the Vestavia Hills High School Freshman Campus for the 2019-2020 school year.

Freeman said he expects to make a decision in the coming months regarding when the Pizitz move to the Berry campus would happen. As well, the planned opening of the Vestavia Hills High School Freshman Campus will not occur for the coming school year, and has been moved to the 2020-2021 school year.
