Two Shot Outside Vestavia Chuck E Cheese's

A man and a child were shot in the parking lot of the Chuck E Cheese's restaurant in Vestavia Hills, both have been taken to area hospitals.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - A man and young child have been taken to area hospitals after being shot in the parking lot of the Chuck E Cheese's restaurant in Vestavia Hills. Vestavia Hills Fire Department Capt. Ryan Farrell said the man’s injuries are potentially life threatening.

"Two subjects- an adult male and a small child received a gunshot wound from what is reported as an accidental discharge of a firearm," the Vestavia Hills Police Department said in a statement. "The adult was transported to UAB hospital with a wound to his upper body. His status is unknown at this time."

The child went to Children’s Hospital with an injury to the leg and is reported to be in good condition, according to the VHPD.

The young men inside the vehicle with the victims were taken from scene by police but were not handcuffed.
