VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Vestavia Hills has a prestigious history surrounding its award-winning school system, and now Vestavia Hills City Schools has established a way to honor those who have been so important to the schools.

As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Vestavia Hills City Schools is forming a Hall of Fame to honor individuals who have contributed to the school system's success and legacy. Nominations will be accepted from June 1 to July 3.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Nominees must have served as a Vestavia Hills City Schools faculty or staff member for at least 5 years. This list includes but is not limited to: Teachers, principals, assistant principals, superintendents, counselors, aides, librarians, office staff, custodial/maintenance staff, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, nurses, and other support personnel.
  2. Nominees, whether living or deceased, must have resigned or retired from Vestavia Hills City Schools prior to July 1, 2019.
  3. Nominees must have demonstrated a commitment to the mission and/or beliefs of Vestavia Hills City Schools during their service in the school system. The VHCS Mission Statement and Beliefs can be viewed here.
